Entering my 'Guided by Voices' era

Isn't it just terrific that we'll never run out of new music. And we'll never run out of old music. Guided by Voices is one of those bands that I had always heard mentioned. "They have a ton of albums like Guided by Voices." "Oh they were part of that 80s 90s garage scene like Guided by Voices." Those references lived around me, but I myself was never Guided by or even to Voices.

I'm on Qobuz now, so exposed to a new algorithm I suppose. I'm always drawn to fuzzy guitar driven music. Simple drum beat, make that bad boy under three minutes and I'm in. I liked my first GBV song, "Game of Pricks" or "As We Go Up, We Go Down" can't remember. It sounded like a grunge Beatles or something. Then I found myself always checking what was on when it happened to be GBV, this band with 52 albums available to Stream that I had been assured I'd be into. I'm partly bummed to know that I'll never actually listen to even 25% of their output with any amount of appreciation. But Alien Lanes is meeting me where I am right now so I'm gonna listen the hell out of that one. Let me know if you have a favorite.

Also Alien Lanes would be a dope bowling alley.
